Bikram Yoga is the original hot yoga (dating back 50+ years!) and is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, taught and practised in a heated room (40 degree heat with 40% humidity). It has been proved and experienced by millions that these 26 postures systematically work every part of the body, to give all the internal organs, all the veins, all the ligaments, and all the muscles everything they need to maintain optimum health and maximum function. While it energizes 100% of the body, it strengthens, develops & clears the mind as well. Bianca and our teachers have undergone rigorous and in depth training, learning directly from the source and only teach the authentic, original 90 minute hot Bikram Yoga sequence. This is a therapeutic sequence, suitable for any age or ability. There are lots of hot yoga fads out there, but we teach and practice the original. Come and give it a go!

- What to bring to class: yoga mat (available for hire $2 at the studio), large shower sized towel, water.
- Class duration: 90 minutes
- Heat: we keep it hot! 40 degrees with 40/50% humidity (please note that heat can vary depending on things outside of our control, such as temperature outside/weather conditions etc)
- Tips: it is a beginner friendly class and we recommend trying at least three – four classes over your first week of practice, so to allow your body to ‘open up’ and acclimatise to the heat.
- Bikram Yoga Etiquette: no mobile phones or other belongings are to be taken into the yoga room. Please avoid wearing strong perfumes or deodorants. As a beginner, we recommend that you initially practice in the back row, allowing you to watch the more experienced students in front of you.
- Benefits: the 26 postures and two breathing exercises are designed to systematically work every muscle, bone, ligament and cell of the body. It reduces stress, improves sleep, develops muscle tone and builds strength and stamina. It helps with weight reduction, improves circulation and boosts metabolism. The heat helps to soften the muscles, making it safe to stretch the body and helps to detox the body.
